Project Objectives (Youth Work Perspective): The project empowers young people with fewer opportunities by providing structured, inclusive, and experiential learning through cross-border mobility. Key objectives include: Personal Development and Empowerment: To strengthen self-confidence, independence, and adaptability while supporting participants in overcoming socio-economic and mobility barriers. Intercultural Learning: To foster empathy by enabling participants from Germany to interact with cultures in Switzerland and Austria, promoting dialogue among diverse youth, including those with migration backgrounds. Practical Youth Work Outcomes: To apply non-formal methods (mentoring, peer learning) to develop life skills and encourage ownership of their learning process. European and Civic Awareness: To turn abstract concepts into tangible experiences through visits to democratic institutions (e.g., Swiss Parliament), universities, and social innovation initiatives. Involving Participants with Fewer Opportunities: Participants are co-creators of the project experience: Co-design: They define learning objectives and help plan the route and institutional visits. Active roles: Rotating responsibilities (navigator, documenter, peer facilitator) ensure ownership and leadership development. Inclusion-sensitive support: Methods are adapted to their confidence and language levels, ensuring everyone can fully engage. Supporting Awareness of Learning and Competences: Youthpass Integration: Competences are documented and recognized through the Youthpass framework. Mentor Guidance: The accompanying mentors (2 per group) guides participants in linking daily experiences to personal development and career pathways. Safety and Protection Measures: Qualified Supervision: One dedicated and trained youth worker per group (5+1 structure) ensures continuous support. As all three groups travel simultaneously, mentors maintain constant coordination to provide mutual support and unified crisis management. Comprehensive Insurance: Full travel, accident, and health insurance for all 15 participants and mentors. Risk Management: Verified accommodation and specific emergency protocols for Bern, St. Gallen, Salzburg, and Munich with 24/7 phone access. Simultaneous Coordination: Travelling at the same time allows for a collective safety network, ensuring no mentor or group is isolated during the DACH route.
