We want to turn safety into concrete practice in a volunteer-run sports club. Our aim is to strengthen our youth work with a shared language and, for us, new safeguarding routines. We want young people to know who they can turn to if something feels wrong. At the same time, young participants will have an active role as co-creators of the club’s culture, which we hope they will help carry forward. In the future, we plan to send this same group of young people to the Danish Sports Confederation’s “Young Leaders” course. The project will provide us with clear contact routes, a coach code of conduct with a practical checklist, and a graphic download package for communication with young people and parents. This will increase participation and retention and make it easy for other clubs to reuse the solutions.
