Objectives

With this project, we aim to strengthen young people’s participation and motivation in the artistic disciplines through the professional development of teachers from two cultural schools: Den Kreative Skole, the Cultural School of Silkeborg, Denmark, and N3 – Mötesplats för ung Kultur in Trollhättan, Sweden. The project focuses on developing new formats and concrete initiatives that can engage more young people aged 13–25 in music, dance, theatre, or visual arts in their leisure time. The project thus takes place within a non-formal learning context. The objective is to equip teachers with concrete tools and methods for creating inclusive, engaging, and differentiated learning and educational environments within the artistic disciplines, where young people can express their creativity and take part in meaningful communities in their free time. The project is based on the recognition that art and culture play a central role in young people’s democratic participation, creative agency, and ability to express themselves in and about the world. Realising this potential in practice requires adult professionals with well-developed pedagogical, didactic, and relational competences who are able to facilitate artistic learning and educational environments for and with young people. The project has the following objectives: - To further develop teachers’ pedagogical competences with the aim of integrating new approaches to artistic teaching that support new forms of participation and enhance young people’s motivation. - To promote practice-based knowledge sharing and reflection, ensuring that experiences from the project are translated into concrete pilot actions and professional discussions within teaching teams in the two partner organisations. - To strengthen cross-border organisational collaboration, enabling the sharing of experiences and methods both internally and externally, thereby contributing to the broader development of youth work. - To ensure that the methods and approaches tested by teachers are embedded in organisational practice and aligned with existing strategies for motivation, participation, and inclusion of young people in the artistic disciplines.
