Objectives

The purpose of the project is to strengthen young people’s democratic self-confidence, their understanding of EU decision-making processes, and their willingness to participate in democratic communities. The project builds on experiences from previous activities at Danish “efterskoler”. Through the project, we will develop, test, and finalise EU role-play activities targeted at young people aged 14–17. The role-plays allow participants to take on the role of decision-makers and experience firsthand how dialogue, negotiation, and compromise are central to the functioning of the EU. The project will be implemented in two consecutive rounds, where evaluation is systematically used to improve both content and methodology. A key objective is to create two completed and thoroughly tested role-play packages that efterskoler and other actors can use after the project ends. At the same time, the project strengthens the competences of young facilitators through a peer-to-peer approach.
