Objectives

The project aims to strengthen youth empowerment on EU among Danish school students in the final years of primary school (ages 14–16).It aims to support Danish youth in building democratic self-confidence and a better understanding of the EU, helping them feel more capable and motivated to engage in European affairs. The main objectives are: • Increase students’ knowledge about the EU, its regulations, and European affairs. • Help students understand how EU legislation impacts their everyday lives, making EU engagement more relevant. • Provide a space for students to critically reflect on and discuss EU-related issues. • Empower students by showing them how they can act on EU topics, fostering democratic self-confidence. The project uses interactive, non-formal education methods, including a series of workshops built around relatable dilemmas. It will end with a handbook for teachers and facilitators to support the continued teaching of EU-related topics in Danish schools.
