According to DUF’s Democracy Analysis 2025, more than half of young people have low democratic self-confidence, even though most have opinions about the development of society. The purpose of the project is to strengthen democratic self-confidence and active citizenship among young people aged 15–20 in upper secondary and vocational education programmes. We will create dialogue between young people and politicians and support young people’s democratic competences and political participation. The project is based on rethinking the panel debate as a format, aiming to involve the target group as active co-creators and ensure they feel heard by political actors. This will be done through a youth-to-youth approach with facilitated workshops, combined with panel debates based on issues identified by the target group.
