Objectives

The project "From Nature to Action" is an international Youth Exchange involving young people from Estonia, Spain, Latvia, Poland, Finland, Iceland and Portugal. The project aims to strengthen young people’s connection with nature and their ability to act environmentally responsibly in everyday life through practical, experience-based youth work. From a youth work perspective, the project responds to the growing gap between environmental theory and real-life practice. Many young people are aware of environmental issues but lack practical knowledge, confidence and opportunities to develop simple eco-habits and experience nature directly. The project addresses this need by using non-formal education, outdoor learning and peer learning as core methods. The main objectives of the project are to: -support young people in developing practical eco-habits that can be applied in daily life without requiring special resources; -increase young people’s contact with nature through outdoor activities and learning in natural environments; -strengthen young people’s environmental awareness, responsibility and motivation to act sustainably at local level; -develop key youth work competences such as teamwork, communication, critical thinking, self-reflection and initiative-taking in an international context; -empower young people to take an active role in sharing results and inspiring others, including through the creation of a practical eco-habits toolkit. The project is youth-led and inclusive, creating a safe and supportive learning environment where young people learn from each other, reflect on their experiences and gain confidence to transfer what they have learned to their local communities. By linking environmental education with outdoor learning and youth participation, the project contributes to sustainable youth work practice and long-term positive impact.
