The project FROM PRESSURE TO POWER aims to strengthen young people’s emotional wellbeing, voice and peer-support capacity by transforming everyday social pressure into practical, rehearsed action. In the youth work practice of the partner organisations in Estonia, Romania and Türkiye, young people frequently report high pressure to perform, fit in and appear “fine,” which often leads to shame, fear, silence and feeling unheard. While information about wellbeing exists, young people lack safe spaces and practical tools to respond when pressure appears in real situations. The project’s main objective is to create a safe, inclusive learning environment where young people can recognise pressure patterns, practise healthy responses and build confidence to express boundaries and seek support. Using non-formal education and Theatre of the Oppressed methods (Image Theatre and Forum Theatre), participants move beyond discussion to rehearsed action, testing realistic responses to pressure together with peers. The specific objectives are to: -increase young people’s awareness of personal pressure triggers and early warning signs; -strengthen coping skills, help-seeking behaviour and peer support practices; -build communication skills, voice and healthy boundary-setting through embodied practice; -ensure meaningful inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities through low-threshold, visual and participatory methods; -support youth participation and leadership by giving every participant an active role; -enable transfer of learning to local youth spaces after the exchange.
