Objectives

With FLY – Facilitating Learning for Youth we want to improve the quality and impact of everyday youth work by strengthening youth workers’ competences to design, facilitate and evaluate meaningful non-formal learning activities for young people. The project will bring together 28 participants in total (including trainers and the organisational team) from 8 organisations and 8 Programme Countries. Through a 7-day training course in Estonia, we will equip practitioners with practical methods and a clear learning design framework so they can respond better to current youth realities such as wellbeing and mental health, digital literacy, participation, inclusion and future pathways, and turn these topics into engaging educational activities. The objectives of the project are to support youth workers to: analyse the needs of young people and translate them into learning goals and learning outcomes; plan coherent learning processes with an appropriate flow, methods and timing; facilitate inclusive and safe learning spaces and manage group dynamics and challenging situations; lead experiential learning and high-quality debriefing; use feedback and evaluation tools to improve their practice; and recognise and document learning outcomes using reflection and Youthpass. Transfer into practice is built in: within two months after the training, each participating youth worker will implement at least one non-formal educational activity in their local context for a minimum of six participants and share the results, ensuring impact beyond the mobility.
