Objectives

The main goal of the “Play Green” Youth Exchange is to use sport and non-formal education as tools for environmental awareness and active citizenship among young people. From a youth work perspective, the project aims to create a participatory, inclusive, and experiential learning environment, where young people can develop both personal and social competencies while engaging with real-world environmental challenges. Specifically, the project seeks to increase participants’ knowledge and awareness of environmental protection and sustainable lifestyles, encouraging them to adopt eco-friendly habits and to understand the impact of human activities on nature. It aims to develop soft skills such as communication, cooperation, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork through sport-based and collaborative activities. The project also aims to strengthen intercultural learning and European identity, enabling participants from Greece, Norway, Serbia, Turkey, Latvia, and Slovakia to exchange experiences, respect cultural diversity, and work together toward shared goals. Finally, from a youth work perspective, the project seeks to empower young people as active agents of change, motivating them to initiate local environmental actions, eco-sport events, and awareness campaigns in their communities, ensuring that learning and impact continue beyond the exchange.
