Objectives

By implementing Green Hands, Open Hearts we want to strengthen youth work practice that is both inclusive and action-oriented, helping young people become active contributors to the green transition and to more inclusive communities. From a youth work perspective, the project aims to improve how youth organisations design non-formal learning that is accessible, participatory and transferable to everyday life. Main objective To empower young people with and without fewer opportunities to develop practical green competences and active citizenship through an inclusive Youth Exchange, while strengthening partner organisations’ capacity to deliver high-quality inclusive youth work. Specific objectives from the youth work practice perspective -Improve inclusive youth work practice by applying and testing concrete accessibility measures (clear structure, easy-to-understand communication, adapted methods, supportive roles) so young people with fewer opportunities can participate meaningfully in international mobility. -Strengthen non-formal education quality by delivering experiential learning on sustainability (waste reduction, recycling, upcycling, gardening/composting, responsible consumption) and connecting learning to daily routines and community action. -Increase youth participation and ownership by involving young people in co-designing sessions, taking roles in implementation, contributing to decision-making, and shaping the final community eco-action and dissemination. -Strengthen intercultural learning and solidarity through mixed-nationality and mixed-ability teamwork, improving communication, empathy, cooperation and conflict prevention skills. -Build youth workers’ and group leaders’ competences in facilitation, safeguarding, inclusion mentoring and competence-based learning recognition (Youthpass approach), creating methods that can be reused locally. -Ensure follow-up and multiplier effect by supporting each partner group to implement local eco-actions/workshops after the mobility and to share accessible results with other young people and stakeholders. Overall, the project aims to deliver a high-quality Youth Exchange that demonstrates how youth work can combine inclusion, sustainability and participation in a practical way, creating lasting methods and motivation for continued local action.
