Objectives

The main objective of the project is to reconnect young people with the earth, nature and their local environment through direct experience, collective living and non-formal learning in a rural environment. From a youth work perspective, we aim to create a meaningful learning space where young people can explore environmental and climate-related issues through practice, cooperation and everyday choices. A key objective is to support the development of a more conscious and responsible mindset towards climate change, sustainability and the use of natural resources. Participants will engage with different types of soil, natural materials and earth building, experiencing in practice how low-impact, locally rooted solutions can contribute to more sustainable ways of living. Building with earth will be used as a learning tool that makes visible the relationship between human beings, land and community, while promoting patience, cooperation, collective responsibility and respect for natural limits. Through collective work, shared responsibilities and daily life in a natural setting, participants will be encouraged to reflect on consumption, waste, cooperation and solidarity as integral elements of sustainability. Through action, shared living and small everyday decisions, we aim to cultivate participants’ basic green skills, such as resource awareness, low-impact practices, environmental responsibility and an understanding of how their choices are connected to wider ecological systems. At the same time, with this project we aim to foster social inclusion, intercultural learning and personal development on equal and fair terms. By bringing together young people from different countries and backgrounds, including participants with fewer opportunities, the project itself aims to break down stereotypes and social barriers. Collective work and shared living will function as tools for building trust, empathy and mutual understanding, strengthening young people’s sense of belonging and active participation within a shared European youth context.
