Objectives

Every day, young people are asked to care about a future they feel they have little control over. They are told to protect the planet, change their habits, and think sustainably, yet they are rarely shown how to do this in a way that fits real life. This gap between responsibility and guidance is where our project begins. From a youth work perspective, the project responds to a growing need among young people for practical direction, emotional balance, and realistic ways to act on their environmental concerns. The main aim of the project is to help young people turn concern into action by building sustainable and healthy daily habits. Instead of treating sustainability as an abstract concept, the project approaches it as a set of simple choices connected to everyday life. Through non-formal learning methods, young people will explore how their routines related to consumption, waste, food, and lifestyle affect both their well being and the environment. By learning through experience, they will gain confidence and a sense of control over their choices. Another core objective is to support emotional well being and reduce eco anxiety. Many young people feel pressure to fix problems they did not create. The project creates a safe space where they can reflect, share experiences, and learn together without fear of judgment. Working in international groups allows participants to develop communication skills, teamwork, empathy, and intercultural understanding, which are essential elements of youth work practice. The project also aims to strengthen long term personal development. Participants will improve key life skills such as decision making, problem solving, adaptability, and responsibility. These skills support their transition into adulthood and encourage active participation in society. Sustainability is therefore not taught as an obligation, but as a natural and healthy way of living. Overall, this project seeks to create a lasting shift in mindset. Young people will leave with practical tools, healthier habits, and a stronger sense of agency. From a youth work perspective, the project empowers young people to take ownership of their daily choices and to contribute to a more sustainable future in a way that feels realistic, meaningful, and achievable.
