COMMON GROUNDS aims to strengthen youth work practice by creating a structured non-formal learning space where young people reconnect with community, environment and active participation. From a youth work perspective, the project seeks to combine wellbeing, sustainability and intercultural dialogue in a practical and transferable way. What we want to achieve 1. Strengthen Youth Participation We aim to empower young people to actively reflect on shared spaces and common goods, and to transform awareness into small, realistic community actions. The project supports youth as active contributors rather than passive beneficiaries. 2. Promote Inclusion and Belonging We want to create a safe and inclusive environment where young people from diverse backgrounds feel heard, respected and valued. Through mixed-nationality teamwork and structured reflection, the project promotes empathy, solidarity and intercultural understanding. 3. Integrate Sustainability into Youth Work Practice The project explores how environmental awareness can be embedded into everyday youth work. By using nature-based and experiential methods, we aim to make sustainability tangible and accessible, especially for young people with fewer opportunities. 4. Support Personal Development and Wellbeing Youth work plays a key role in supporting emotional resilience and social connection. Through reflective exercises, creative expression and cooperative tasks, participants strengthen self-awareness, confidence and interpersonal skills. 5. Develop Transferable Non-Formal Learning Methods COMMON GROUNDS aims to test and document participatory tools (nature walks, mapping exercises, creative co-creation, structured reflection) that youth organisations can replicate in their local contexts. Project Objectives • To strengthen young people’s sense of belonging and community connection. • To increase awareness of environmental sustainability and shared responsibility. • To develop key competences such as communication, teamwork, initiative and intercultural dialogue. • To promote active participation through youth-led micro-actions. • To enhance the capacity of partner organisations to implement inclusive and sustainability-oriented youth work. From a youth work perspective, the project contributes to quality non-formal education by combining experiential learning, reflection and active participation. It supports young people in becoming more confident, responsible and engaged members of their communities, aligned with Erasmus+ values and Youth Exchange principles.
