Objectives

We have noticed that young people are becoming more aware of the environmental challenges we face, but they often feel unsure about how they can make a meaningful impact. Fast fashion is one of those topics is one of those topics that is affecting all of us,yet many don’t realize just how deep the consequences run. With this project, we want to create a meaningful space for young people where they can actively explore the realities of fast fashion, deepen their understanding of its impact and discover new practical ways to take action. This will be a chance for them not only to learn but also experiment, share and create together solutions to the environmental and social challenges around fast fashion. Through this youth exchange, we aim to support young people in developing their voices and gaining confidence to make important change in their communities. The project is built around non formal education creative learning methods, ranging from workshop and hands on sessions to reflection circles and storytelling. We will focus on multiple topics such as textile waste, overproduction and labor rights, giving the participants the chance to connect the dots between their daily habits and global challenges. We also desire to create an open-access guidebook "Sustainable Wardrobe Guidebook" that will remain available on all partner websites indefinitely to benefit the wider youth work field. The information inside the guidebook will be based on how young people create their new clothing during the recycled clothing workshop and the group discussions after ‘’The Re:Fabric Fashion Show’’. Our main target is not just to raise awareness but also to empower. When participants leave the project we want them to feel inspired and ready initiate meaningful change in their own lives and local communities. At the same time, we will encourage dialogue on shared values of sustainability, justice and inclusion, enabling youngsters from various countries to find common ground, learn from each other and build a concrete vision for a more responsible and fair future.
