With the implementation of MindWell, we aim to offer young people a holistic learning experience that will help them reconnect with their real needs—physical, mental, and social—and empower them to take an active role in caring for themselves. The project combines non-formal learning, an experiential approach, and the principles of youth work to transform wellbeing from an abstract concept into a personal and collective way of life. The project is primarily aligned with the horizontal priority of Inclusion & Diversity, while also incorporating Environment & Climate Action and Digital Transformation, strengthening shared values and the active participation of young people. The programme is built around four core pillars: • Self-awareness & emotional understanding: identifying personal needs, boundaries, stress-coping strategies, and triggers. • Mental & physical wellbeing: self-regulation techniques, routine, sleep, gentle movement, and self-care without pressure. • Nutrition & choices: information, myth-busting, mindful consumption, and developing a relationship with food free from guilt. • Relationship with the community: mutual support, teamwork, empathy, and peer learning. The main objectives of the project from a youth work perspective are: 1. To provide young people with a safe, inclusive, and pressure-free space where they can explore the concept of wellbeing authentically. 2. To strengthen their ability to make conscious choices for themselves (in terms of self-care, nutrition, and relationships). 3. To cultivate life skills linked to everyday mental balance: emotional self-regulation, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. 4. To give young people with fewer opportunities the chance to recognise their voice and strength, build self-confidence, and foster connection. 5. To enhance quality youth work practice by equipping youth workers with tools to approach wellbeing through non-formal methods. Through these objectives, the project does not function merely as an exchange of experiences, but as a tool for personal and collective empowerment. It creates the conditions for deeper connection, exploration, authentic participation, and meaningful change—while also strengthening the quality and social impact of youth work.
