Objectives

With PlayAble we want to improve the quality of youth work practice with young people with fewer opportunities by equipping youth workers with concrete, accessible and motivating non formal education tools. The project responds to a practical need in our organisations and local youth work ecosystems: youth workers often want to be inclusive, but they lack ready to use methods that work well in mixed ability groups and that can be adapted to different levels of support needs without reducing participation and learning. Our main objective is to strengthen youth workers’ competences in inclusive facilitation and accessible game based learning. During the training course, participants will develop practical skills to design, adapt and facilitate board and card games that support meaningful participation, safe group dynamics and learning transfer to daily life. This includes using clear communication, visual and tactile supports, predictable structures, flexible roles, and structured debriefing. A second objective is to produce concrete outputs that can be applied in daily youth work. Participants will co create and test game prototypes and compile a PlayAble Toolkit with clear rules, facilitation steps, adaptation tips and reflection questions. These resources will help youth workers run inclusive sessions more consistently and with higher quality, not only as one time activities but as part of regular programmes. A third objective is to strengthen cooperation and innovation in youth work across Greece, Romania, Latvia and Italy. By working in intercultural teams and sharing practice based experience, the partners will build a common approach to inclusion and create tools that can be replicated in different local contexts. This supports innovation because it turns inclusion into a practical design and facilitation process that can be transferred to many youth work themes. Overall, the project aims to make youth work more inclusive, engaging and effective by improving professional practice and by providing usable resources that support young people with fewer opportunities to participate actively, develop social and life skills, and feel more confident in their communities.
