The project “Youth Voice of Aigialeia: Democracy in Schools” aims to empower lower and upper secondary school students in Aigio to participate meaningfully in democratic life. Through non-formal, experiential learning and the organisation of school elections, young people will understand in practice the value of voting, representation and dialogue, and will take responsibility. The project will strengthen their knowledge of democracy, elections and citizens’ rights and responsibilities,create safe and inclusive spaces for participation for all students, including those with fewer opportunities, develop key competences such as critical thinking, communication, teamwork, problem-solving and democratic decision-making; establish a core youth team within the applicant organisation to co-design and support activities connect schools with the local community through student proposals and follow-up actions and produce a toolkit so the model can continue beyond the end of the funding period.
