Objectives

Through this project, we want to support young people in better understanding themselves, their emotions and their personal boundaries. Many of the young people involved experience self-doubt, fear of being judged and difficulties expressing themselves in a group. These challenges often limit their participation, confidence and willingness to take an active role in social situations. One of the key reasons for implementing this project as a Youth Exchange is that as young people, we have very limited access to international or structured youth projects. Because of our background, language barriers or social situation, we are often not reached by existing opportunities. This exchange creates a first real chance for us to take part in an international youth activity in a supportive and accessible format. At the same time, the topic of self-expression and emotional awareness is broad and flexible, which makes it easier to work together with partners from different countries and adapt the activities to the real needs. This allows young people to feel included, understood and confident to contribute, regardless of their previous experience. From a youth work perspective, the main objective of the project is to create a safe and supportive environment where young people feel accepted, listened to and respected. Based on our everyday work with young people, we see that emotional safety is a key condition for participation and learning. When young people feel safe, they are more open to sharing, trying new things and taking responsibility within a group. The project uses movement-based and creative methods as tools of non-formal learning. These methods allow young people to express emotions, reflect on their experiences and cooperate with others in a practical and accessible way. Through active participation, young people strengthen their self-confidence, emotional awareness, communication skills and ability to work in a group. As youth workers, our role is to guide and support this process while giving young people real space to influence activities, take initiative and shape their own learning. The project aims to empower young people to feel more confident, connected and capable of participating actively in youth and community life.
