The objective is to strengthen young people’s participation, inclusion and active citizenship by providing them with concrete and meaningful opportunities to engage and influence decision-making at local, national and European levels. The project develops youth-led participation structures and deepens young people’s understanding of democratic decision-making processes and opportunities for influence. A key objective is to support young people’s agency and sense of being heard by experimenting with and developing new forms of participation based on open access, dialogue and peer learning. The project aims to strengthen European cooperation and values-based civic engagement by enabling encounters, exchange of experiences and joint development work between Oulu and Leverkusen. Within the project, young people act as active contributors who plan activities, facilitate workshops and compile shared outcomes that can be used to further develop youth participation and democratic practices.
