The aim of the project is to give us, the young people in the group, our first opportunity to travel independently abroad in a safe and supported way. For all of us, this is the first time we are travelling across Europe in such an independent manner, and therefore the project means much more than just a trip – it is a step towards independence, courage and belief in our own abilities. Many of us have experienced feelings of exclusion, insecurity or the sense that international opportunities are not meant for us. Through this project, we want to break down these barriers. We plan, travel and make decisions together, supported by adults but taking responsibility ourselves. We learn through everyday situations, mistakes, successes and shared experiences. The aim of the journey is to strengthen our self-confidence, social skills, language skills and the feeling that we are capable of more than we often believe. The trip gives us a concrete experience that we, too, can move across Europe, meet new people and cultures, and be part of the European community from our own starting points. After the project, we want to carry with us the experience that we dare, we are capable, and we have the right to dream and seize new opportunities.
