Objectives

Our project, GREENFUTURE, aims to support 30 young Europeans in a personal and collective transformation, turning them into informed, empowered, and connected actors for a greener and fairer Europe. Through a non-formal education approach centered on experience and participation, we intend to achieve three fundamental objectives for youth work practice. We aim to catalyze engaged awareness. Our goal is to move beyond simply raising awareness of environmental issues to developing in young people a critical understanding of the links between the ecological crisis and social injustices. By using methods such as the adapted Climate Fresk and participatory mapping of injustices, we help them decipher systemic mechanisms and identify their own position within these issues. The workshop on eco-anxiety is designed to transform paralyzing anxiety into a source of collective resilience and motivation. We aim to develop concrete skills for civic and ecological action. The objective is to equip young people with practical and transferable know-how. Through the democratic simulation and the creation of a multimedia advocacy campaign, they directly experience the processes of participatory democracy, advocacy, and strategic communication. These activities, designed as action laboratories, allow them to build and exercise skills in negotiation, collaborative creation, and critical thinking, thereby strengthening their sense of personal efficacy and their ability to initiate green projects in their communities. Finally, we seek to forge a sense of active belonging to the European Union. By creating a space for intercultural dialogue where German, Italian, and French perspectives on nature and justice meet, we enable participants to build a common and inclusive European vision. The co-drafting of a Youth Manifesto and its targeted dissemination to decision-makers transform this sense of belonging into active European citizenship. The project culminates in the emergence of a lasting network of young ambassadors, capable of promoting the European values of solidarity, sustainability, and justice at the local level. Our ambition is to use non-formal youth work to enable a group of young Europeans to move from a state of urgency and powerlessness to a posture of informed, skilled, and solidary engagement, making environmental justice the concrete foundation of their common future.
