Objectives

The PEP28 association aims to implement a European mobility project for young people aged 11 to 17 from the rural area of the Communauté de communes Cœur de Beauce, where opportunities for international mobility and intercultural openness remain limited. Through this project, the objective is to offer young people a structured collective educational experience at European level, based on the principles of youth work and non-formal education. The project seeks to create a safe and supportive environment enabling young people to discover other cultures, open up to diversity and develop an initial awareness of European citizenship. From a youth work perspective, the project places strong emphasis on the active participation of young people at all stages of the process. Young participants are involved in the preparation of the mobility, the co-creation of certain activities, as well as in moments of exchange, reflection and evaluation. This approach promotes experiential learning, youth expression, the development of autonomy and increased self-confidence. The activities implemented are based on non-formal education methods such as participatory workshops, group work, intercultural exchanges and collective reflection sessions focused on culture and European citizenship. The local partnership in Italy gives concrete meaning to these learning processes by encouraging encounters with local actors and anchoring the exchanges in a real European context. The project pursues several complementary objectives: to develop the civic and European awareness of the young participants, to strengthen their cultural openness and understanding of European values, to encourage their engagement and active participation in a collective project, and to foster intercultural cooperation. It also aims to reduce inequalities in access to European mobility for young people from a rural area by addressing geographical and social barriers. Finally, this project is part of a broader youth work approach that aims to support young people in their personal and social development, strengthen their ability to act as active citizens, and encourage their future engagement within their local community and the European space.
