Objectives

Project Context: A Critical Health Emergency " LETS RECHARGE OUR BATTERIES" was born from an alarming observation backed by the World Health Organization (WHO, 2022 report on Obesity): 60% of adults and 1 in 3 children in the European Region are overweight or obese. Furthermore, the OECD "Health at a Glance" (2023) report highlights a 30% increase in anxiety and depression among young people (18-29) post-COVID, directly linked to sedentary lifestyles and digital addiction. In a context of high inflation, healthy living is often perceived as "too expensive" or "too difficult" for youth with fewer opportunities. Objectives: To address this dual crisis of physical and mental health, our project has set three specific objectives aligned with European Youth Goal #5 (Mental Health & Wellbeing) and the Green Erasmus priority: Democratize Healthy Living: Prove that eating well and staying active is accessible on a tight budget (max €3/meal) through "Budget Nutrition" education. Combat Digital Addiction: Provide tools for "Digital Detox" to reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality, turning technology into a tool rather than a master. Foster Social Inclusion through Sport: Use non-formal education and inclusive outdoor activities to rebuild social links damaged by the pandemic and isolation. Youth Work Perspective: From a youth work perspective, our goal is to equip participants with Key Competences (Personal, Social, and Learning to Learn) that they can transfer to their daily lives. We aim to transform passive consumers of social media into active, healthy citizens who understand the impact of their lifestyle choices on themselves and the planet.
