Objectives

The PASSERELLES project aims to organise an 8-day contact seminar and professional development activity in Morocco (4-11 October 2026) focusing on active citizenship and the inclusion of young people from disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods. It will bring together 28 youth workers from 4 countries (France, Belgium, Morocco, Tunisia): specialised educators, socio-educational facilitators, youth centre directors and volunteer workers who work on a daily basis with young people from underprivileged backgrounds. The choice of Morocco is directly linked to the reality of our target groups: the young people supported by our organisations, both in France and Belgium, are predominantly from families of North African and sub-Saharan origin. Working alongside Moroccan civil society organisations, recognised for their experience in civic participation, makes it possible to bridge perspectives between host countries and countries of origin, and to enrich our professional practices through a concrete intercultural approach. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project pursues the following objectives: - strengthen participants' skills in active citizenship and inclusion, so they can design and facilitate activities tailored to young people who are distant from mainstream participation schemes; - collectively experiment with non-formal education methods (role-plays, simulations, forum theatre, world café, co-creation workshops, moving debates, photolanguage, peer learning) that are directly transferable to daily youth work in youth centres, community centres or educational settings; - analyse and compare European and North African approaches to youth work in order to identify innovative and transferable practices, particularly regarding the inclusion of young people from disadvantaged urban areas; - equip participants to design quality Erasmus+ projects (youth exchanges, youth participation activities) that address the real needs of the young people they support; - build lasting partnerships between organisations from the 4 countries, grounded in shared field-based realities. In practical terms, each participant will leave with an individual action plan to integrate the learning outcomes into their professional practice, as well as at least one draft Erasmus+ project co-developed with partners met during the seminar.
