Objectives

The CRIJ Grand Est and its partners, the Fédération Infor Jeunes (Belgium) and the CRIJ Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, are three organizations whose mission is to inform young people about all issues that concern them. These organizations are at the forefront of youth education and develop initiatives in various fields using non-formal education methods (activities, information campaigns, training, etc.). They enable young people to continue their education and support them in all their projects and empowerment. With the evolution of information technology into a new dimension, that of AI, the profession of youth information officer is facing new issues and challenges in supporting young people. More than ever, the profession of youth information officer is part of media and information education. These youth professionals support young people during a critical period of their lives and encourage them to question information and ensure its reliability, both in terms of the abundance of practical information and information related to social issues. They are therefore called upon to develop young people's critical thinking skills. Faced with the challenges of the changing role of youth information officers, the partnership is proposing a project that aims to achieve six objectives by bringing together youth information officers and encouraging them to work together. Objective 1: Strengthen the professional standing of youth information officers in supporting young people and parents with digital technology use. Objective 2: Develop and share information education tools to strengthen critical thinking (train young people to identify fake news from reliable information) and thus strengthen the active citizenship of young people, with a priority on those facing multiple difficulties (geographical, educational, socio-economic, etc.). Objective 3: Provide training in media education tools recently developed in the respective networks. Objective 4: Promote the cross-border exchange of practices, tools, and representations around the evolution of the youth information professional's role. Objective 5: Initiate the design of new projects and training modules related to media and information literacy and changes in youth information professions. Objective 6: Promote the work and results of the meeting at the Forum of Elected Officials and Youth Leaders of the Grand Est region, organized as a follow-up to the event on Friday, November 20, in Strasbourg.
