With EcoRun Amazonia, we want to empower the youth of French Guiana to take action in the face of ecological emergencies, while strengthening their civic engagement and self-confidence. The project aims to transform young people from mere spectators into true agents of change able to understand environmental challenges, experiment with concrete solutions, and inspire those around them. Our objectives are to make ecology accessible and tangible through hands-on, participatory activities : to help young people develop civic, organizational, and social skills, and to foster a territorial dynamic where the environment becomes a driver of inclusion, cohesion, and cooperation. We also want to highlight and support local initiatives already engaged in the transition, strengthen dialogue between young people and decision-makers, and ensure that the voices of the Overseas Territories are included in European narratives on climate and the environment.
