With this project, CITRUS aims to make opportunities for local engagement and European participation fully accessible to young people from the area, particularly those living in rural contexts, who do not always recognise themselves in existing initiatives. The project will seek to address the biases that limit their inclusion in our activities and to show that Europe can also be experienced locally. The project will establish a progressive process of engagement, allowing young people to join at different stages, experiment, and gradually become more involved. We will support them in this development of skills and confidence by placing them at the heart of actions co-constructed on the basis of their needs and those of the various target groups involved in the project. Our objective is to strengthen their agency, self-confidence, and social, civic and intercultural competences, while creating sustainable bridges between local engagement and European opportunities.
