With this project, SportUnity aims to empower young people with fewer opportunities by strengthening their confidence in their ability to express themselves, understand public debate, and engage in dialogue with local decision-makers. The project builds on SportUnity’s field experience with young people in the Toulouse area, particularly in contexts where access to spaces for civic participation remains limited. By using sport as a tool for non-formal education and mediation, the project supports 30 young people aged 16 to 30, mainly from working-class neighbourhoods of Toulouse, in analysing hate speech, polarisation, and disinformation.
