The initiative “Routes to Citizenship” aims to transform the heritage-based engagement of young people in Corsica into a structured exercise in democratic participation. It seeks to connect locally rooted initiatives, developed in villages and neighbourhoods, with national and European dynamics, in order to reduce the institutional distance experienced in rural and insular territories. Young people aged 14–17 will design a Youth Citizens Route in Bastia, linking local memory with European values. Participants aged 18–30 will strengthen their skills in project design and advocacy. The process will culminate in the drafting and formal presentation of a White Paper to the French National Assembly, setting out concrete proposals emerging from the field.
