Objectives

The project aims to strengthen the quality, relevance and impact of youth work practice in responding to current challenges faced by young people, particularly related to mental health and well-being, social exclusion, crisis situations and declining youth participation. By implementing this project, we want to ensure that youth workers are better equipped to support young people in a preventive, inclusive and youth-centred way, while respecting the specific role, ethical boundaries and values of youth work. From a youth work practice perspective, the project focuses on capacity building rather than clinical intervention, empowering youth workers to act as facilitators, mentors and community actors who support young people’s resilience, participation and well-being. Overall objective The overall objective of the project is to increase the professional competences of youth workers to respond effectively to crisis situations and everyday challenges in young people’s lives through participatory, inclusive and ethical youth work approaches. Specific objectives From the perspective of youth work practice, the project has the following objectives: To improve youth workers’ competences in addressing mental health and well-being through preventive, non-clinical and supportive youth work approaches. To strengthen youth workers’ ability to motivate and engage young people in active participation, community life and democratic processes. To enhance inclusive youth work practices, especially when working with young people with fewer opportunities and those facing social, economic or psychological barriers. To improve cooperation between youth workers and local stakeholders (local authorities, schools, NGOs, social services) in order to create coordinated support environments for young people. To equip youth workers with skills to navigate crisis situations using youth-centred, ethical and participatory approaches. To strengthen European cooperation and peer learning among youth workers through the exchange of experiences, tools and good practices. Youth work practice relevance The project directly contributes to youth work practice by providing practical tools, methodologies and reflective spaces that can be immediately transferred into participants’ daily work with young people. It reinforces the preventive, empowering and participatory role of youth work, supports professional development of youth workers and contributes to higher-quality youth services at local and European level.
