Objectives

The ‘EU for YOU’ youth exchange will be implemented in Nyíregyháza, Hungary, involving youngsters from Italy, Greece and Poland. There was quantitative research made on the local, national and international level that showed that young people do not have enough information about EU institutions, how the EU functions and how its institutions make decisions and democratic processes. The goal of this youth exchange, to create a safe place, where participants can learn, share experiences, contrast and compare how democratic participation as well as the institutions and the mechanisms of the EU are perceived across different countries, which will contribute to a strengthening European identity and mutual understanding among them. The objectives of the project are: - Providing non-formal education about the EU institutions - Connecting institutional proficiency to everyday policy areas that predominantly affect young people’s lives - Empowering young people to actively participate in and shape civic life on a local, national and EU level. - By improving the participants’ public speaking, argumentation, and advocacy skills. - Creating a sustainable multiplier effect through social media dissemination and follow-up activities. - Promoting common European values, such as the respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, the rule of law, and human rights. - By developing the participant’s critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration and media literacy skills. After the project, project participants will act as multipliers in their local communities and bring the knowledge they gained during the youth exchange. We will also have a huge focus on following the guidelines of Erasmus+ objectives as the project will build on inclusion and targeting the development of participants' active participation in democratic life
