Objectives

WE BELIEVE that in the EU's YEAR OF COMPETITIEVENESS (2026), our PROJECT IDEA ON FINANCIAL AWARENESS will finally GET HEARD and get a chance to contribute to this very critical competence of European youngsters in these critical geopolitical times. Shaping European youth and empowering them to take action and control their own future is in the best interest of the EU, so we aim to tackle this by equipping youngsters with the competence to act (entrepreneurship competence in the YOUTHPASS framework), and, THE FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDES THAT 82% OF EUROPEANS ARE LACKING accroding to EUROBAROMETER (2023): "The results point to the need for financial education to target in particular women, younger people, people with lower income and with lower level of general education who tend to be on average less financially literate than other groups." - Source: https://europa.eu/eurobarometer/surveys/detail/2953 By implementing our project, E.A.S.Y. - Economically Advanced and Smart Youth, our aim is to empower young people through the acquisition of ESSENTIAL FINANCIAL LITERACY SKILLS, foster active citizenship, and promote a culture of informed decision-making. We envision equipping European youngsters with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complex world of modern finance and, as a result, enabling them to contribute more meaningfully to their communities, both locally and at the European level. The project aims to BRIDGE THE EXISTING GAP IN FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE by making the subject accessible for young adults, including those with fewer opportunities. Additionally, it addresses the impact of digitalisation on finance and introduces participants to relevant European Union institutions and actions. In terms of concrete objectives, we aim to improve the financial literacy of young participants by providing them with a solid foundation in financial concepts, such as budgeting, digital solutions, investing, retirement planning, and economic systems. Through tailored workshops and activities, we intend to enhance their practical financial skills, equipping them to make informed decisions about their personal finances. From the perspective of youth work practice, our primary objective is to provide young participants with skills that go beyond traditional classroom education. We seek to create an engaging and interactive learning environment where young people actively participate in workshops, discussions, and non-formal activities. Through these dynamic methods, we aim to demystify financial concepts, making them UNDERSTANDABLE AND RELEVANT to the daily lives of young individuals. Another key objective of our project is to INSTILL A SENSE OF ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP in young participants. We consider having sound financial awareness to be a first step for civic engagement, therefore, by providing this solid foundation, we also empower youngsters to become responsible members of their communities who are aware of their rights, opportunities, and responsibilities. Through hands-on activities, we aim to inspire them to take an active role in addressing societal issues, thus contributing to positive change at the local, regional, national, and international levels. Furthermore, our project seeks to foster INTERCULTURAL UNDERSTANDING and cooperation among young people. By bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds and cultures, we aim to create a life-long experiences and foster new perspectives. Through collaborative learning and interaction, our objective is to break down cultural barriers and promote unity in diversity. Our project also aims to create a SUPPORTIVE AND INCLUSIVE learning environment. We want young participants to feel valued, heard, and respected. This objective involves promoting active participation, open dialogue, and peer learning. By fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion, we aim to create a positive and enriching experience for all participants. However, our project aims to extend its IMPACT BEYOND THE INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANTS to the participating organizations. The project endeavours to strengthen the capacity of youth organisations by enhancing their ability to deliver effective youth programs through collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Participating organisations will develop valuable international partnerships that enrich their resources for engaging with youth. Moreover, as organisations integrate the project's innovative learning approaches into their practices, the quality and effectiveness of their youth programmes can improve. Our ultimate ambition is to communicate our project's message to at least 100.000 young Europeans and engage at least 100 youngsters actively, utilizing all online and offline channels within our reach.
