The driving idea behind Be Aware! is that awareness – of oneself, of others, and of the world around us – creates the possibility of choice, and from that choice, the potential for meaningful change. By implementing this project, we want to give young people the chance to experience awareness in practice and to see how it can positively affect their well-being, their relationships, and their role in society. The project was born from the initiative of young people themselves and responds to a real need in Europe today: to support mental health, self-leadership, and resilience. It creates a safe space for personal growth and reflection, using youth work methods that combine play, dialogue, and experiential learning. At the same time, it strengthens community bonds and encourages participants to act as multipliers of change back home. Objectives of Be Aware!: - Bring together 30 young people from 6 diverse European countries, fostering inclusion and intercultural dialogue. - Improve participants’ life skills (communication, teamwork, critical thinking, self-organisation, resilience). - Support participants’ mental well-being and self-awareness through reflection and non-formal learning tools. - Raise awareness of socially relevant topics and encourage active citizenship. - Strengthen community and teamwork by co-creating and implementing follow-up activities in each partner country. In short, the project offers a youth work practice that empowers young people to become more aware, resilient, and engaged – qualities that benefit both them and their communities.
