Objectives

The aim of the Let’s Discuss It! project is to guide young people step by step from debate culture to social dialogue and, ultimately, to active and responsible participation, thereby strengthening their democratic competences, community engagement, and European civic identity. Focus of the First Youth Exchange: Debate Culture and Core Competences C1. To develop young people’s democratic debate competences, enabling them to express their views in a structured and well-argued manner, grounded in evidence and mutual respect, while remaining open and critically receptive to differing perspectives. C2. To strengthen critical thinking and self-reflection, with particular emphasis on understanding how individual opinions on social issues are formed and how emotional and communicative dynamics emerging in controversial situations can be consciously managed. Focus of the Second Youth Exchange: Social Dialogue, Solution-Finding, and Representation C3. To foster active youth participation and youth empowerment by creating non-formal learning environments that enable young people to jointly interpret social and public issues, develop solution-oriented proposals, and consciously represent the interests of their own communities. C4. To enhance communication, cooperation, and decision-making competences through participatory and interactive learning methods. C5. To strengthen intercultural learning and the European dimension by promoting dialogue and cooperation among young people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
