The aim of the project is to renew the toolkit of youth work by consciously and methodologically integrating gastronomy as a powerful, yet underused, tool for community building and inclusion. The initiative is carried out within an international partnership where participating organizations face similar social and professional challenges—particularly in engaging young people with fewer opportunities. The project seeks to: – support youth workers in using gastronomy as a creative and inclusive non-formal educational tool, – develop participants’ methodological, facilitation, and digital competences, – structure and adapt existing gastronomy-based practices to fit local realities, – create space for international peer learning and foster a professional community, – and ultimately produce a freely accessible methodological handbook to inspire and support other youth workers and organizations. The project includes two international training courses, complemented by a preparatory meeting and a final public event in Budapest. During the project, youth workers will design and implement local gastronomy-based youth events, reflect on their experiences, and collaboratively develop the content of the handbook. Special attention is given to raising awareness of learning outcomes (through tools like Youthpass and structured reflection), reinforcing an inclusive mindset, and enabling participants to act as multipliers—bringing the knowledge back to their organizations and beyond. The project’s results—including the handbook, new tools and methods, and strengthened partnerships—will contribute to the development of high-quality, innovative, and inclusive youth work on local, national, and European levels.
