Objectives

The aim of our project, planned within the framework of DiscoverEU, is to provide participants with the opportunity to experience and learn abroad and gain new knowledge who would not otherwise have the opportunity to do so. The project also includes visits to some professional locations, which can provide them with an insight into how youth work works in different countries, how youth organizations or youth houses are organized and work. Furthermore, we want to provide young people with comprehensive experiences and experiences that help strengthen their European identity, develop their critical thinking and contribute to developing a more inclusive and open outlook. We see that Europe is often a distant concept for young people, with little personal experience and direct experience. Our program aims to fill this gap: during the trips, participants will be able to experience the religious environments present in the countries on the route first-hand and will be able to visit religious centers, thus making them more open and accepting towards the different faith worlds. During the first trip, they will travel the Zagreb-Ljubljana-Venice-Bologna-Florence-Rome route, where the main focus will be on visiting large and widely visited religious sites, cathedrals, churches and during the trip, looking for differences and similarities between sites belonging to the same denomination. They will also get to know the sites of other denominations and religious groups that are unknown to them and have not been visited. They will also be given enough time to see and explore other attractions in the cities and visit tourist sites. During the second trip, which will follow the Nuremberg-Amsterdam-Hamburg-Copenhagen-Dresden route, the main focus will also be on introducing them to various religious sites, but during this trip, the participants will specifically visit places with the group leader that are unknown to them or that they have less information about. We will choose this during a preliminary survey so that places that are not common and that they encounter less often and with less opportunity in their everyday lives are really put on the map for them. During this trip, they will also have the opportunity to be simple tourists and see the places that interest them, or to have their lunch in a place that they have chosen in advance. Or simply walk the streets of the cities where their feet take the team. The special significance of the DiscoverEU program lies precisely in the fact that it provides young people with access to travel, experiences and experiences in an inclusive way. The program also creates opportunities for young people who, for social, economic or geographical reasons, would not be able to participate in international mobility programs. This gives participants with fewer opportunities a chance to gain direct experience of the functioning, values and diversity of Europe. The goals of our project are therefore: - strengthening the European identity of young people, - raising awareness of the values of inclusion, tolerance and cultural diversity, - and involving young people with fewer opportunities in gaining international experience. Our project aims to enable participating young people to discover the functioning, diversity and community strength of Europe through personal experiences. We believe that the experiences gained during travel contribute to young people becoming more open, responsible and aware, and to becoming active shapers of their own communities and the future of Europe.
