Objectives

The aim of the project is to make learning mobility – especially the DiscoverEU travel experience – accessible to young people with fewer opportunities through a safe, inclusive and learning-centred youth work framework. Building on the long-term youth work practice of the Bagázs Association, the project is designed as a structured learning journey, where mobility is not a one-off experience but part of a consciously developed learning process. From a youth work perspective, the main objective is to strengthen the self-confidence, autonomy and learning agency of the participating young people, while reducing the barriers that often exclude them from international opportunities, such as fear of the unknown, lack of experience and language insecurity. The project is based on non-formal and informal learning, experiential methods, peer learning and horizontal learning relationships. Another key objective is to reinforce inclusion in youth work practice. Through mixed groups of Roma and non-Roma young people and the involvement of peer mentors, the project creates learning environments that reduce hierarchy, increase the sense of safety and encourage active participation. The project supports young people in becoming active actors in European learning opportunities and credible role models for other young people in their communities.
