Objectives

The project "United in Diversity" was developed to respond to the urgent challenges that young people face in their daily lives. Young people still encounter prejudice, intolerance and exclusion in their schools, universities, workplaces and communities. These issues are often connected to nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender or socio-economic background, and they harm not only opportunities but also personal well-being, self-confidence and mental health. With the rapid spread of social media, these patterns of discrimination are now amplified online, where hate speech and harmful stereotypes circulate easily. Young people themselves have voiced the need for change. Through surveys and discussions participants expressed a clear desire to learn how to recognize these challenges and to respond to them in proactive, creative and non-violent ways. The project aims to create a safe and inclusive space where young people can reflect on their experiences of discrimination, explore its causes and consequences and learn about constructive methods to challenge intolerance. By bringing together participants from different countries and cultural backgrounds for ten days of non-formal education, the project aims to promote intercultural dialogue and encourage young people to see diversity as a strength. Through carefully designed workshops and experiential learning, participants will not only raise their awareness about discrimination and human rights but also develop concrete skills to respond to these issues in their daily environments. The goal of "United in Diversity" is to break the silence that too often allows discrimination to persist. The project aims to bring lasting change by helping young people gain awareness, empathy and practical skills, starting with them and then spreading to others. It aims to show young people that their voices matter, that their actions count and that through cooperation and mutual respect they can build a more inclusive community. Objectives: - To raise awareness among young people about discrimination, intolerance, prejudice and human rights, and encourage them to reflect and openly discuss these topics. - To help participants understand the roots of discrimination, its consequences and the different forms it can take in today’s society. - To equip participants with knowledge and practical skills to deal effectively with prejudice and intolerance. - To foster intercultural understanding and promote multicultural awareness by encouraging communication and cooperation among youth from diverse backgrounds. - To inspire participants to take initiative in their own communities by spreading ideas of tolerance and creating awareness activities. - To introduce participants to YouthPass and Erasmus+ as tools for personal growth, recognition of competences and future engagement in European programs. By this project, we want to show participants that even their small actions are important and can create real change, inspiring them to take responsibility, speak up and contribute to building a more tolerant and inclusive society.
