Through “Beyond the Slide – Leadership Through Art”, we aim to strengthen leadership, democratic participation, and intercultural understanding among young people aged 13–17, particularly those with fewer opportunities. From a youth work practice perspective, the project seeks to create a safe and inclusive non-formal learning environment where young people can actively practise leadership rather than only learn about it in theory. Using theatre and arts-based methods, participants will develop communication skills, empathy, teamwork, critical thinking, and responsible digital behaviour. The project promotes meaningful youth participation by giving young people rotating leadership roles, involving them in shared decision-making, and supporting them in reflecting on their learning through the Youthpass process. It also aims to reduce barriers to international mobility by prioritising inclusion and providing tailored support for young people facing economic, cultural, or discrimination-related challenges. Overall, the project seeks to empower young people to become more confident, active, and responsible citizens in their local communities and within a European context, while strengthening the quality of inclusive youth work practice within the partner organisations.
