This project aims to break the cycle of unemployment, low educational engagement, and limited opportunities experienced by many young people in Dublin 10. By combining outdoor education, civic engagement, and high‑quality youth work, the project will help young people build confidence, develop key life and leadership skills, and reconnect with education, training, and community life. Through challenge‑based learning, group work, and progression pathways, participants will gain recognised skills, including national governing‑body qualifications, and some will progress into the BYS Junior Leader Employment Programme. The project promotes inclusion, wellbeing, and active citizenship, empowering young people to see themselves as capable contributors to their community. By strengthening resilience, motivation, and civic responsibility, the project supports long‑term positive change for young people in Ballyfermot and contributes to breaking cycles of disadvantage.
