The aim of this project is to provide an inclusive, supported DiscoverEU travel experience for young people with fewer opportunities, enabling them to access international mobility on an equal footing with their peers. From a youth work perspective, the project focuses on personal development, social inclusion, and experiential learning in a safe and structured group setting. The objectives of the project are to reduce barriers to mobility for Youthreach learners by providing tailored preparation, mentoring, and practical support before, during, and after the travel. The project aims to build participants’ confidence, independence, and resilience through real-life learning experiences such as navigating new cities, working as part of a group, and engaging with different cultures. A key objective is to support the development of transferable life skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, and intercultural awareness. These skills are developed through non-formal learning activities, reflection sessions, and shared responsibility during the mobility. The project also aims to strengthen participants’ sense of European identity and active citizenship by helping them understand shared European values such as inclusion, democracy, diversity, and sustainability. Sustainable and responsible travel practices will be embedded throughout the project to raise awareness of environmental responsibility. Finally, the project seeks to ensure that learning outcomes are recognised and valued through the use of Youthpass, helping participants to identify and articulate the competences they have developed. The experience will also strengthen the organisation’s capacity to deliver high-quality, inclusive youth mobility projects, building on the positive results and lessons learned from previous Erasmus+ initiatives.
