Objectives

As a leader and youth worker, i want to give this opportunity to young people that usaully would not get the chance. I can use discovereu as a tool to complete my youth work aims under the UBU programme. It also helps me build up strong relationships with young people in the youth projects at an age when they usually leave the project. These young people are ofton not in education, training or employment. Many people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, have limited exposure to the wider European context in which they live. This can result in a narrow understanding of other EU countries, their cultures, social behaviours, infrastructure, and ways of life. Without direct experience, it is difficult for participants to reflect critically on how different societies function, or to recognise positive practices that could inspire change or adaptation in their own communities. A further issue is that a lack of confidence, financial resources, or prior travel experience can prevent people from exploring beyond familiar or conventional destinations. For some, international travel, especially using public transport across multiple countries, can feel intimidating or inaccessible. This limits opportunities to develop independence, practical life skills, and resilience. As young people, we want to travel europe and not spend as much monmey as it would cost us usually. We want to try lots of different foods in different countries and then tell everyone about it when we come home. We can put this on our CV also and the new skills will help us get an Apprenticship or a job and even a place in college.
