The project aims to strengthen staff competences in adult education, develop new digital and media-literacy pathways for rural adults, enhance employability support for adults with fewer opportunities, and build NEW HORIZONS’ capacity as a learning hub in a depopulating region. By training 12 staff members, we want to introduce innovative methods, create new programmes and ensure long-term improvement in our adult-learning offer.
NEW HORIZONS applied for this project to address the lack of modern training opportunities in our rural area of northern Sicily. Adults in our community face digital exclusion, unemployment and limited access to quality learning. Our staff need updated skills in digital pedagogy, media literacy and adult-engagement methods to better serve these groups. Mobility offers the only realistic way for our organisation to access European best practices.
