To address the low participation and poor continuity of adult learners, COMPASS aims to strengthen the skills of BASE staff and volunteers in adopting inclusive and motivating educational practices for vulnerable adults and to improve the language and project planning skills of staff in order to access European best practices, develop quality training programs, and strengthen international cooperation for the benefit of learners.
BASE operates in the province of Salerno, where adult participation in lifelong learning is low and socio-economic fragilities limit access to educational pathways. Many adults with low levels of education or negative educational experiences are wary of training and drop out early; it is therefore essential for BASE to make its offering more accessible and motivating, capable of encouraging learners to remain in and continue with educational pathways.
