Objectives

The main goal of “Safe Spaces – Slow Down, Listen and Belong” is to strengthen young people’s democratic participation by recognising emotional well-being as a key condition for meaningful civic engagement and by creating sustainable youth-led safe spaces supported by local institutions. The project has three main objectives: O1 – To empower 20 young people to co-create and facilitate safe spaces, strengthening competences such as emotional awareness, active listening, trust and self-regulation. The outcome is the creation of youth-led safe spaces at local and international level, designed as non-judgmental and non-performative environments that support slowing down, listening and participation. O2 – To strengthen local support systems through interdisciplinary cooperation between psychologists, intercultural mediators, doctors, youth workers and educators. O3 – To promote structured dialogue between young people and policy makers, increasing institutional awareness of safe spaces
