With this project, we aim to transform DiscoverEU into an intentional, protected, and truly transformative youth work program for two young people with fewer opportunities, for whom European mobility is not typically accessible due to economic barriers and psychosocial obstacles related to emotional fragility, withdrawal, and low self-confidence. From a youth work perspective, the goal is to create concrete conditions for growth: training in daily autonomy (orientation, decision-making, time and resource management, communicating needs, and the ability to ask for help), developing well-being-oriented awareness (recognizing cues, limitations, resources, and self-regulation strategies), and strengthening belonging and participation through encounters with peers and European youth communities. The project is guided by the Theory U mindset: we don't just aim to "have an experience," but to facilitate change that emerges from within and can last. This means guiding young people through the transition from automatic withdrawal to a more conscious and generative presence: listening deeply to what blocks them (co-sensing), creating spaces for pause and awareness to recognize needs and possibilities (presencing), prototyping new, realistic choices during the journey (co-creating), and consolidating them upon return with follow-up and micro-habits (co-evolving). In this framework, travel becomes an educational space of community and participation, where care and challenge are balanced and where micro-victories are made visible and transferable to everyday life. Europe, thus, is not just a destination, but a livable community where it is "beautiful and possible" to move around.
