Tenrock works with young people and for young people, embracing their difficulties, their limitations, and their successes. Offering meaningful experiences that support their harmonious development — with themselves, with others, and with the natural environment — is an integral part of our mission. The project represents an opportunity for a group of five young participants, boys and girls currently living in residential care communities and who have been attending workshops at our social circus for several years. The project pursues the following objectives in favor of the young people with fewer opportunities involved: 1) Personal Development The project activities will strengthen self-esteem, personal autonomy, and awareness of one’s own limits and resources. Through the different phases of the project, participants will develop transversal skills (relational and communication skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking) and will have the opportunity to experiment with and build personal strategies for emotional management. The support provided by qualified staff and the constant presence in non-formal and less structured contexts will facilitate the emergence of personal experiences and resilience strategies. 2) Social Inclusion The opportunity offered and the experience resulting from it will contribute to reducing inequalities and barriers to accessing travel opportunities and active non-formal learning. The creation of safe and empowering spaces will help establish a context of security and healthy relationships, giving each participant the confidence and encouragement to embrace inclusion opportunities. 3) Active Participation and Citizenship The project offers opportunities to participate in every phase of the activities, encouraging participatory and proactive dynamics. It will also strengthen the sense of belonging to a broader community — the European one. The opportunity to visit and experience environmental sustainability projects, where active citizenship and social responsibility are strongly embedded, will broaden participants’ perspectives on these issues and on the possibility of pursuing similar goals in their own lives. 4) Non-Formal Learning The journey offers a valuable “learning by doing” opportunity. We strongly believe in the power of experiential learning as a driver of change. Reflection moments and methods, together with the completion of the Youthpass certificate, will foster increased awareness among each young participant. The learning outcomes emerging from these experiences will remain deeply rooted in the participants’ memory, enriching their portfolio of transversal and specific skills and supporting future employability and career orientation. 5) Well-being and Positive Relationships This objective is fundamental considering the project’s target group: young people who have experienced dysfunctional and sometimes extremely harmful relationships with adult role models, and who have faced — and in some cases still face — situations of isolation, marginalization, and distress. Supporting the psycho-social well-being of the group and allowing them to live strongly positive and empowering experiences is undoubtedly one of the core objectives of the project. 6) Sustainability and Social Responsibility The project will be strongly oriented toward environmental issues and the promotion of sustainable lifestyles, encouraging behaviors based on solidarity and social, economic, and environmental responsibility. The project fully aligns with our mission of working with young people, contributing concretely to the promotion of autonomy, inclusion, and active participation. Through non-formal education methodologies and an experiential approach, the project supports young people — especially those with fewer opportunities — in a path of personal and social growth, transforming vulnerabilities into opportunities for learning and empowerment. In this way, the project goes beyond simply implementing activities: it strengthens an educational vision focused on empowerment, youth protagonism, and the construction of more inclusive and sustainable communities.
