The main goal of this youth exchange project is to develop young people’s sustainability competencies and promote responsible consumption through practical, creative, and experiential activities. From a youth work perspective, we aim for participants not only to gain theoretical knowledge about sustainability but also to apply it in practice by learning how to restore, recycle, and creatively reuse materials such as textiles, furniture, and decorative items. Project objectives: 1.Developing sustainability skills – to encourage young people to understand the issue of overconsumption and actively seek creative solutions for restoring or reusing items. 2.Fostering creativity – to provide space for experimentation, creation, idea-sharing, and practicing innovative solutions in the field of sustainability. 3.Strengthening digital skills – through podcast creation and planning social campaigns, participants will develop communication, collaboration, and technical skills. 4.Promoting intercultural learning and cooperation – participants will engage with different cultures, experience group work and exchanges, which enhance empathy, intercultural understanding, and social competencies. 5.Encouraging civic engagement – by involving participants in community activities (“Second Chance” workshops), they will practically experience social responsibility and learn how to contribute to improving their environment. Through the use of Youthpass, e-blogs, and reflection sessions, participants will learn to evaluate their acquired competencies, reflect on their experiences, and plan how to apply them in the future. By implementing this project, we expect young people to become active members of their communities, to think critically about consumption habits, promote sustainability ideas, and apply the skills and knowledge gained in real-life situations and future projects. The project activities not only provide practical skills but also help young people develop autonomy, self-confidence, and social responsibility—core competencies in youth work.
