Who are we and why are we doing this? The organization "Apglėbk pasaulį" (Embrace the World), founded in 2022 in Kaunas, aims to help young people who dare not travel due to a lack of funds, living in rural areas, or fear. Our project "Race for Good: Journey Home" is designed for 18–21-year-olds from the Kaunas district and Anykščiai. For many of them, this will be their first trip abroad. We want to show them that Europe is open to everyone, not just the wealthy or the brave. What will we do? This will not be a simple tourist excursion. It is a 15-day adventure by train and bus across Europe. The Journey: We will fly to the starting point and return home by train, visiting large cities along the way. Mission of Good: During the trip, participants will not only observe but also act. They will join local people's work—helping to clean the environment, preserving cultural heritage, or participating in youth activities. Race with Oneself: Participants will learn to plan the route, buy tickets, and overcome the fear of communicating in a foreign language themselves. Who is the project for? The project will involve young people with fewer opportunities. These are people from small towns, receiving low income, or experiencing social exclusion. We will cover all their expenses (travel, food, accommodation) so that money is not an obstacle. How will we ensure safety? We understand that the first trip can be scary. Therefore: Participants will be accompanied by experienced leaders (1:1 ratio or small groups) who will always be nearby. Before the trip, we will explain everything simply and clearly. We will use safe routes and pre-booked accommodation. What do we hope to achieve? We want participants to feel stronger and more confident when they return home. 1. Independence: They will learn to plan time and budget. 2. Courage: They will overcome the fear of speaking English and interacting with strangers. 3. Example to others: Upon return, they will become "megaphones"—telling their stories to friends and the community, showing that everything is possible. This is a project about how a simple trip by train and bus can become a journey into oneself and one's future.
